Terms of Service
The terms for using Universus Developers services, including Docora.
Last updated: 16 July 2026
These terms cover your use of univerdev.com, the Docora app, and related services from Universus Developers. By creating an account you agree to them. Please also read our Privacy Policy.
1. Scope
These terms apply to all our services; our details are in the Impressum. They apply to both consumers and businesses.
2. The service
Docora is a document app that runs mainly on your own device. Some features (AI OCR, text-to-speech, summaries) run through our server using credits ("Coins") or a subscription. We may add, change, or remove features where that's reasonable for you.
3. Your account
Register with accurate details and verify your email. Keep your password safe — you're responsible for what happens under your account, and should tell us about any unauthorised use. We apply device-based session limits to stop account sharing.
4. Acceptable use
Use the service lawfully. Don't try to bypass our security or rate limits, reverse engineer or resell the AI gateway, upload illegal content, or harm other users or our systems. We may suspend accounts that break these rules.
5. Plans, Coins & payments
Plans and Coins are billed through Stripe. Prices are shown before you pay and include tax. Subscriptions renew automatically until you cancel; you can cancel any time from your dashboard, effective at the end of the current period. Used Coins and delivered digital services aren't refundable, except as the law or the withdrawal right below requires.
6. Right of withdrawal
As an EU consumer you can withdraw from a contract within 14 days, no reason needed.
For digital content: if you start using a purchase (e.g. Coins) before those 14 days are up, you're asking us to begin right away and you lose the withdrawal right for the part already used (§ 356(5) BGB). To withdraw an eligible purchase, email [email protected].
7. Availability
We try to keep the service running but can't guarantee it's always available or error-free. Your statutory warranty rights as a consumer still apply. Beta features are provided as-is.
8. Liability
We're fully liable for intent, gross negligence, and harm to life, body, or health. For ordinary negligence we're liable only for breaching essential contractual duties, and only up to the foreseeable, typical damage. This doesn't limit liability under the Product Liability Act or your statutory consumer rights.
9. Termination
You can close your account any time by deleting it. We may terminate for good cause, such as a serious breach of these terms. Statutory termination rights are unaffected.
10. Governing law & disputes
German law applies, excluding the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods. As a consumer, you keep the protection of mandatory rules in your country of residence.
EU online dispute resolution: https://ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr. We don't take part in arbitration before a consumer arbitration board.
11. Final
If one clause is invalid, the rest still stand. We may change these terms with reasonable notice; if you don't accept a material change, close your account before it takes effect.
